I recently started experiencing pain while moving my left thumb. After consulting my doctor, he found no underlying issues but recommended that I take a break from playing action video games on my phone and tablet. He also suggested using a CMC Joint Brace for support. Instead of purchasing an expensive option from the doctor's office or a local drugstore, I decided to find one myself.
The brace I chose fits my left hand well and helps stabilize my thumb, easing the pain. However, it's not as soft as my cloth brace, which I find more comfortable. I did read a review from someone who disliked cloth braces, but since my condition isn't very serious, I feel the cloth version works better for me.
This brace package comes with an extra strap, allowing me to clean one strap while using the other—a helpful feature compared to cloth braces, which require cleaning the entire unit. I would need to buy two cloth braces for convenience. Despite this brace somewhat restricting thumb movement, it effectively alleviates pain, which is its most important function. I wouldn't take off too many stars for its limitations, and I believe it could be helpful for lighter cases like mine.
